A sign outside of Zeta’s at 751 N. High Street states that it is for sale. I don’t know if this means they hope to at least keep it the same type of store under new ownership or if the location is being sold as just a vacant spot. This place has been around for awhile and was a favorite at lunch for a friend and I. It will be a shame to see it disappear from the Short North landscape.

Walker –
I listed this in another thread a couple of months ago, but cannot remember which one. Zeta was owned by a husband and wife team, and I was told (so this is grapevine) that unfortunately one of them has been diagnosed with a very grave case of cancer. The initial intent was to keep it open, but from what I hear the partner found that the need to care for their spouse became the preeminent need. So they’re looking for a buyer. Not sure how long they have before the space just goes up for rent, but the for sale sign has been there for a few months.
Now that you mention that, it sounds familiar. I think I recall reading your original post about it.
Thanks for posting the recap! That sad news to hear though.
That is a shame, that place has the best gyro’s in town! I gotta go get 1…. or 5 before they close their doors. Sad news about the owner, he was very friendly.

Zeta European Emporium at 751 North High Street was open this Sunday apparently under their new ownership. Most of the items available in the old store appeared to be offered by the new ownership.
