A new food production company called Zapico Foods was just launched this week by local food entrepreneur Michael Hermick. The first products include pasta sauces, balsamic dressings and other “east-coast style” gourmet sauces, with others to follow soon.
“Everything is made right here in Columbus,” said Michael. “In fact, we bottle everything at The Ohio State University. We are also trying to use local products and local farms for our produce.”
The Hills Market, located at 7860 Olentangy River Road, is the first store to carry the line of products. Online sales will also be available within a few weeks.
Mike’s products are wonderful, I encourage folks to try them. Mike is one of our ECDI food entrepreneurs, and I’m really excited for him with his new business. I just bought three bottles of his marinara sauce, tasty stuff. His gourmet sauce is tasty too, had a pulled pork sandwich yesterday using it, it was great.
Such great sauces! I love them! Loved the BBQ sauce. Marinara is also super tasty.
