Yellow Brick Pizza Opens in Olde Towne East

By: Walker

Yellow Brick Pizza is now open in Olde Towne East. The pizza shop at 892 Oak Street was briefly known as Fozzie’s Pizza while it was under construction, but has undergone a name change during the process.

Their menu includes a variety of fun specialty pies such as the Rhode Island Red, the Cisco, the Boise Surprise, and The Green Monster. Has anyone been to try it out yet?

  • New dining options are always welcome on the near east side. Can’t wait to check this place out!

  • Happened to drive by a couple weeks back and it looked interesting, at least from the outside. Nice to see more options in OTE.

  • Finally, it looked like it was about done. Hope to see Oak revitalized into something like a bigger version of W 3rd in HW and it’s off to a good start with a couple of dining options. Hopefully, it’s not at the expense of Parsons after ODOT gets through with it. The two pizzas I’ve got to try are the RI and Boise Surprise, which actually sounds good even though there are potatoes involved. I’m guessing it’s best to eat that one dining in, otherwise you’ll just have a melted sour cream mess.

  • Eating the pizza right now..its pretty good

  • Yay, another food option to pick up on the way home from work!!!  Is it thin crust or thicker crust?

  • Ooooh. I wanna try the Oak St.

  • Oh man, this is great news after returning home. Anyone know what their hours are?

There are a lot of great buildings down near them that could use a good facelift.

  • First, the Pizza. It’s good pizza and could easily be compared locally to Sarafinos in the North Market – Very similar.
Second, They have plenty of seating and in a happy environment. Also, Yellow Brick Pizza will be serving beer as soon as they receive their license – Lots of ready to go taps that will be serving both local and small craft brewery drafts and root beer.
Best of all, the owner is local and lives literally down the street from the establishment. This is exactly what the near East side desperately needs–locals who are willing and to step up and turn empty storefronts into viable businesses.  Also, I believe Columbus Compact can help with Grant money for anyone looking at Oak Street in particular but couldn’t find anything about it just now.
I love the Third Steet in Harrison West analogy from Columbusite.

  • Yeah, I just got an email from Orin who said that their opening was a “soft opening” because the beer wasn’t ready yet, but should start being served by the end of this week. Nice! :D

  • Let’s have an informal CU meetup there when they get their liquor permit!  If I can find it, I will even bring my old liquor code and regulations so we can celebrate their permit with an appropriate lack of sobriety!

  • Orbiting the planet at maximum velocity.  The moon with the tasty pizza will be in range in thirty minutes!

  • Can’t wait to try it out! So happy for more dining options in OTE.
