Yagoot Yogurt Store Opens at Easton Today

By: Anne

A new family-owned yogurt store is opening at Easton – Yagoot. Yagoot is based out of Cincinnati and this is their fourth location, and the first in Columbus.  For anyone familiar with Pinkberry or Red Mango, they will find that this yogurt has a taste very similar, because it is real yogurt.  Owner Shawn Busken actually sold this exact yogurt back in the 70′s and 80′s at their Busken Bakery restaurant locations in Cincinnati but stopped selling it when Wilson Dairy, who made it for them, went out of business.  When “tart yogurt” recently became popular on the coasts, they decided to bring back this yogurt and worked with the original owner of Wilson Dairy to duplicate the formula.  Their first store opened about two years ago (May 9th, 2008) and now they are looking to have several stores in Columbus as well.Shawn Busken provides more details on the yogurt: “The yogurt is lowfat (1% fat per serving) and a small serving has 120 calories.  It is probiotic with live cultures to aid in digestion and all the fruit toppings are fresh fruit—nothing is frozen, no sugar added to any of the fruit.  The yogurt comes in three flavors—plain (not vanilla), strawberry (using an all natural strawberry puree), and Banana (our current seasonal flavor).  Our produce is from a local company that buys produce from Columbus area farms when in season.  Our store will be open Monday through Saturday 11 AM to 11 PM and Sunday 12 AM to 9 PM.  The store officially opens on March 1st!”

  • Had their strawberry @ Kenwood in Cincy. It was yummy.
    Can’t wait to visit.
Too bad the neighboring LEGO store doesn’t carry the Architect Series…
