I was just checking the homes for sale in Woodland Park and there are some great bargains! It is a great time to buy in Woodland Park. The neighborhood continues to have low crime, quiet streets, wonderful neighbors, and good amenities. Our YMCA has fun classes and a nice, convenient work out facility, gym, pool, and whirlpools. The Alum Creek bike trail is now extended past Three Creeks Metro park and provides a great relaxing getaway.
The new Old Bag Of Nails is open for business. With the leaves down we can see the James Turrell permanent light exhibit in the Palm House at the Conservatory from Broad Street (it comes on at dusk and ends each night at dawn).
Speaking of Franklin Park, the Conservatory continues with their master plan that will eventually re-open the entrance at Woodland Avenue and Broad Street, and renovate the entire park. Also, over 15 homes have been purchased and renovated in the last 2 years alone in Woodland Park. All of this is just a few minutes from the Short North, Easton, the airport, Bexley, and downtown.
Here are some photo links to great homes available in Woodland Park by various real estate agents:

Wow, nice variety of homes there Jeff! Most of them are huge! Thanks for sharing. :D
No doubt, the 12,000 sf “house” is very impressive. I have no idea what I would do with that much space.
jeff, yer killin me….*sob*
wow @ the efficiency condo in the bottom right picture…29,000 bucks?!? That’s less than a lot of cars.
the “new” Old Bag of Nails. Shouldn’t we call that the New Bag of Nails. Or is there another place. How about the Rusty Bucket of Nails?
There’s already a restaurant called the Rusty Bucket on 315 north of 270
I have never wanted to own a house… This is making me reconsider. I better go to another thread quickly!!
This picture in the mansion cracked me up:

Green Light = PARTY TIME
Yellow Light = LAST CALL
Red Light = GET OUT, TIME TO GO HOME
;)
This may actually be incentive to leave the Bacon District.
Bacon District II?
I don’t think that area has anywhere NEAR as many sources of bacon as the Bacon district. It’s called the bacon district for a reason!
Woodland Park is a nice residential neighborhood, but it´s not as nice further north and west. The corner stores would be good, but the ones there are unkempt and I´m pretty sure not a good bet for groceries. If only there were some quality commercial in the immediate area. Oh well, Parsons and Main St. (Bexley) are nearby.
Quality commercial? Depending on what you are looking for a quick trip down Nelson or the Alum Creek Bike Path will get you to the Main/Alum Creek Kroger and just east of that is the Bexley gateway and Main St. drag.
Some shameless self promotion: I have the first house for sale….there is also a youtube virtual tour….you can see everything at:

Shameless – Jeff you crack me up! Love the manoresque homes, but how do you guys keep ‘em heated? Not everyone is a PH D or married to one! Happy 2009!
There’s a scattering of smaller homes in Woodland Park. Mine is 1,200 SF… Love the location next to Franklin Park, the YMCA, a branch of the #1 library in the country, and on the bus line downtown. There’s great neighbrhood coffee shops on Long and it’s a hop, skip and a jump to the freeway. Of course, and most importantly to me, it’s a very bike-able neighborhood.
WOW – talk about the great housing stock. We love taking out our mountain bikes – they are Cannondales and riding through Woodland Park. Mr partner and I moved to the transitioning King Linclon District from German Village. We are don’t laugh North of E Long Street (not scary and quiet very cool houses and cheap) last summer to save money and love it – but also love Woodland Park too – just wanted a smaller house…. Walker boy that new Theater is the bomb – this neighborhood is going to pop – can feel it
I smell a troll…
