Wine on High Closing for Renovations, Updating Wine Bar

Short North wine shop Wine on High announced yesterday that they will be temporarily closing their doors at 789 North High Street on Saturday July 18th to begin renovations. While the retail store will continue to focus on wine sales, the renovations will see the relocation of the upstairs wine bar to the ground-floor level.

Wine on High was purchased by Taste Hospitality Group (THG) in late 2013, and noted then that they were planning to eventually make some updates to the business. THG also owns and operates Hubbard Grille next door and Mezzo Restaurant & Bar in Dublin.

“We welcomed the opportunity to continue the legacy of a strong and successful business in the Short North when we acquired Wine on High,” said THG owner Sheila Trautner. “But we always wanted to build upon that success and incorporate our overall vision in the process. The time was finally right to move forward with our plans.”

In addition to the updated downstairs wine bar, the new Wine on High will also serve cocktails, and charcuterie and cheese boards. The upstairs area will be home to a renovated private event space. All renovations are expected to be completely by early Fall.
