When the venue you choose for your wedding is beautiful, you are guaranteed to have gorgeous photos. Vanessa (Perovsek) and Justin Spring held their wedding and reception April 28, 2012 at the Columbus Museum of Art.

The couple met in the Arena District during a December snowstorm, while Justin was out celebrating his birthday.

“Most of the Arena District was empty, but we managed to bump into each other,” says Vanessa Spring. “After three hours of conversation we exchanged numbers, and the rest is history.”

“We chose the museum as our location for both [our ceremony and reception] because we loved the idea that we could use one room and flip it into a reception area after,” says Spring. “The open glass ceiling, stone walls and art in the museum provided an amazing set up.”

The amazing set up did not even require a theme. “We just wanted the room to be soft and romantic,” she says.

The couple worked with Bart Krogman, of FLOURISH bespoke to plan the set up of the ceremony in the Derby Court room of the museum and the flip of the room for the reception. “Bart was a miracle worker,” says Spring. “He was super creative and helpful.”

Spring wore an ivory organza petal bridal gown with silk organza pleated sweetheart bodice, vintage pearl ribbon belt at waist and an A-line skirt with a chapel train by Lazaro, which she found at Cincinnati Bridal and Formal. For her bridal look, she turned to the Jacob Neal Salon in the Short North for her hair and Tim Mauer of Mukha Spa for her makeup.

Bridesmaids wore dresses by Monique Lhuillier.

“Spending a carefree night dancing and having fun with our friends and family was the best part,” says Spring.

All of it was captured by Britt Lakin of Britt Lakin Photography and crafted into a very memorable photo album.

“Most of the night we didn’t even know she was there capturing all the special moments,” says Spring. “I don’t think she missed anything!”

After the wedding, the couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Maui.
