Photos: Vaccines and Bloc Party at The Newport

A little slice of England came to Columbus on Saturday night as three of the Queen’s favourite bands (citation needed) planted their flags on the Newport Music Hall stage.

Brit-pop throw-back Morrissey soundalike, Oscar opened the show to warm applause from the early crowd.

Fellow London based indie-rock band The Vaccines were next up and delivered the more enjoyably high energy set of up-tempo pop-rock that spanned the groups six years of existence.

London band #3 for the evening was Bloc Party. The group’s recently retweaked line-up are back out on the road touring last year’s ‘Hymns’ album.
