Treat to try: The Angry Baker’s Tiramisu

Tiramisu is a dessert I usually shy away from because I find the bottom half of it is normally way too heavy on coffee taste. I stopped in Angry Baker and saw it in their dessert case and thought, despite my misgivings, it looked really good. At $4.50 for a pretty generous piece, you could easily share it with a friend.

Finally! A delicious tiramisu for people who are not huge on coffee. Angry Baker’s version is 3 layers of spongy ladyfingers with airy vanilla cream between. A generous dusting of cocoa tops it off. The coffee flavor is very light and subdued. Overall, it’s a delicate take on a classic treat.

You can find The Angry Baker in Olde Towne East at the corner of 18th and Oak Streets. 891 Oak St., Columbus, Ohio 43205. They are open 7 days a week: Sunday & Monday from 8am-5pm and Tuesday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm. Visit them on the web at theangrybakerote.com. Like them on Facebook.
