Treat to Try: Snappers from Edward Marc Chocolatier

For ninety years, Edward Marc Chocolatier has produced and sold some of the country’s favorite chocolates. Using cocoa and spices from all across the world, including West Africa and the Caribbean, they’ve perfected the art of smooth sweetness.

A family-operated business through generations, Edward Marc is now run by siblings Dana, Chris, and Mark Edwards. They’ve recently introduced Snappers, a spin on a childhood  favorite – the classic chocolate turtle. But instead of pecans, pretzels join caramel and chocolate in chewy happiness.

The use of pretzels in lieu of pecans adds a delightful saltiness and pronounced crunch that chocolate turtles rarely have. Plus, that simultaneous interaction of sweet, crunchy, salty, and chewy is ultimately satisfying.

All of the ingredients listed on the bag are recognizable, and there’s a suggested retail price of $7 for a 10 oz. bag at Giant Eagle Market District stores. Snappers can also be purchased for $8.99 for a 24 oz. bag at Costco stores, or online at Amazon or Edward Marc’s website.
