Treat to Try: Cinnamon Sticks from Tremont Goodie Shop

By: Anne

Slightly hidden in the Tremont Center in Upper Arlington is the Tremont Goodie Shop. It’s a full service bakery that also offers in-store seating and a selection of Crimson Cup coffee. When I saw on their website that they carried cinnamon sticks that you “won’t find anywhere else” I was intrigued. Baked as a bar, the cinnamon sticks are four “layers of sweet roll dough, Korintje cinnamon, sugar and a butterscotch glaze.” They are almost three inches long, one inch wide and a half inch tall. They are 75 cents each, and I recommend you get two.

If you love the middle of cinnamon rolls, you will love these. They have a wonderful cinnamon aroma and are dusted on the bottom with a bit of cinnamon and sugar. It’s a wonderful confection that’s nice and sweet, not very sticky and slightly gooey on the inside. So good, you won’t even miss the usual vanilla icing that adorns a cinnamon roll. Go give them a try!

  • These are like crack. I have also found the coffee cake they sell to create an embarrassing situation when I shovel it into my face repeatedly, until it is nothing but a sweet memory.

Also – the coffee cake will last, wrapped in it’s wrapper, for up to a week in your car. Or so I’ve been told.

  • If you need a “legitimate” excuse to happen by the Goodie Shop and load up your car with coffee cake, the best damn place in the area to get your wingtips re-soled is right next door: Alex Shoe Repair.
