Tracey Gardner Method is Moving Downtown

High watt vibe. Elfin audacity. When you are next to Tracey Gardner you feel the energy pulsing and notice that she has some of the best toned abs in town. This fall, she will be moving her studio to Downtown Columbus in the former Tradewinds II at Chestnut and Third Streets.

For over five years, Tracey had her signature Tracey Gardner Method (TGM) workouts in the New Albany area, and now she has set up temporary digs in the Gahanna area (#tgmwarehouseparty) while building out her dream studio in downtown Columbus.

“It’s like we’re having a summer camp!” says Gardner on Monday at her 6057 Taylor Road location. “We’ve taken over the space and are cranking the sound –like a RAVE!”

Over 26 loyal followers joined her in an industrial-sized garage near East Broad and 270 on the opening night, June 8th.

After years of exploring various fitness routines, including ballet and rocket yoga, Gardner came up with her own ‘anti-yoga’ moves for maximum toning and a good amount of cardio. She pumped up the music and lowered the lights to create a club-like atmosphere in a super-heated workout room. She not only created an energetic atmosphere but I can attest that her playlist is consistently awesome and in the dark, it is hard to feel self-conscious while working out.

“I wouldn’t work out anywhere but at Tracey’s,” says a very trim Nova Gallicchio. “I never get bored, and it never gets easy. Tracey is constantly tweaking things and there is always a new challenge.”

Gallicchio has worked out with Tracey for over four years and notes that people gladly drive from all over the city to take her classes.

Gardner took a week off to re-boot herself before opening in her summer space. “It all comes from my soul. … The passion … It’s all evolving.”

Tracey Gardner’s workouts are unique. They usually feature combinations of planche-style pushups, lunges, and isometrics.

“She works a lot of small and large muscle groups,” noted a PhD student in physical therapy at OSU, “I could see how you could some build strength with it.”

“It is very empowering,” says Gallicchio. “The energy Tracy brings is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.”

At the corner of Chestnut and Third, behind OH Pizza and Brew, is 1,320 square-foot space that will become, “The ultimate Tracey Gardner experience!” says Gardner.

“I want to make it the most amazing, comfortable space for my fans/followers and my main intention is to make TGM safe for bodies, mind and soul – a place that is welcoming to EVERYBODY!”

Initial renderings are underway, but Gardner has plans for not only a fun, clubby space inside, but also for an outdoor terrace. Stay tuned for further Tracey Gardner Method moves! In the meantime, check out her summer camp experience #tgmwarehouseparty at 6057 Taylor Road, Gahanna 43230.
