I haven’t heard anything about drink specials, but if it’s anything like Betty’s and Surly Girl, they’re not going to be too expensive…

Happy Hour pricing will be going until around 9.
Their all-the-time-special is the Bottoms Up! $3 Whiskey and RC

Would like to, but Adult. is coming tomorrow http://www.adultperiod.com/ . I’ll be sure to check it out soon though, since it’s not too far a walk, as long as it’s not too hot. Got to put my money where my mouth is and support more downtown establishments.

Just got home after a long walk back from Tip Top. LOVED IT!
I was never in the Grapevine before, but the place has a great feel that I’d compare to a combination of Surly Girl, Lotus, and Flat Iron. Lots of brick, and an old-school vibe mixed with a hip young friendly crowd.
Their drink menu consists of a lot of Whisky drinks, Beers, and specialty mixed drinks. The only one I tried was the “Commit to be Lit” which was great even I don’t recall what all went into it. Flavored Vodkas? Juices? Goodness?
Anyway, I have two thoughts for people who missed out tonight:

based on the time of your post, i must’ve just missed you, walker, but the tip top ROCKS. busiest “soft” open i’ve ever seen. great bar, great booths — GREAT whiskey drinks.
obviously the internet’s changed the way events like this go down, but there’s no doubt in my mind it’s going to do well. especially once the food service starts. the exterior may be nondescript, yes, but it belies a very interesting inside.
drop in and take a look.

Yeah, supposedly they want to eventually rip the whole front of the building off and get some windows opening up to the patio. Either way, I’m sure it will do well to. When we left around 10:15ish the patio was still jumping. Looked busier than Due Amici’s patio which was still pretty crowded too.

Parking is really awful in that area…any idea where to park if you’re not able to walk?
May 15th, 2007 at 6:23 pm
You can park at meters for free on weeknights all along Third, Fourth, Gay, and Long after 6PM. Parking immediately in front of the place is pretty much impossible. Due Amici takes up a lot of space with Valet, and the other spots go quick.
I was going to post up a little guide for this in the CU Meetup Post since indochick had a hard time parking for the last event. 8)

You can also just ride your bike! I understand that they will be offering a two wheel discount of some sort at some point. TTK&C is biker friendly.
It is nice to see good people doing well.

Yeah, I’d say walking or biking (depending on where you live) is your best bet, with the bus being a good option as well.
If you must drive though, there’s plenty of free meter parking available withing a two block radius if you know where to look. 8)

I don’t know what it costs to park there.

I went to TIP TOP last night and really liked the Columbus-centric decor and menu. I got some shoe sring fries that were awesome and crispy and a tasty side of spicy mayo too, but they were $5 bucks! There french fries for pete’s sake. Yeah there is also $1 off for bike riders on PBR. Nice patio with cool looking downtown buildings. I am going back again for sure.
