The Sunlight Market Launches on Gay Street

The first ever Sunlight Market event officially launches today on Gay Street, offering attendees the opportunity to shop from over 50 local sidewalk retailers while partaking in brunch and lunch menus from area restaurants. The event — which runs from 10am to 3pm — is hosted by the same folks who introduced the popular Moonlight Market event series in 2013, with the goal of bringing more retail shopping back to Downtown Columbus.

Some of the vendors taking part in the event launch today include The Boutique Truck, Candle with a Cause, J-POPS, Handwritten Forward, The Cat and the Raven, Paw Paw Creek Honey, Brady Bands, Fussy Louise Jewelry, De Massimo’s Pasta Sauces and many more.

Brick and mortar restaurants offering brunch during the event include Due Amici, Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails, Plantain Cafe, Oliver’s Burgers Steaks & Bourbon, Zen Cha Tea Salon and Latitude 41. Additionally, several restaurants that are normally closed will be open for special hours today, including Phatt Taco (serving up Huevos Rancheros con Jamon), The Carvery (serving Porchetta hash & eggs and chorizo, egg & cheese biscuits) and Cafe Napolitana (serving seven styles of breakfast pizza along with bloody marys and mimosas). Cafe Brioso will be serving up coffee as well from a pop-up cafe inside Due Amici.

The Sunlight Market will continue to take place every Third Sunday in 2016 from April through October from 10am to 3pm. The event takes place on Gay Street in Downtown Columbus, roughly between High Street and Third Street.
