The restaurant space at 122 South High Street is getting a new pop-up concept in October, after previously being home to Chez du Bon and Fin (the latter of which closed at the end of July). Owner Yavonne Sarber confirmed that FAB Dining Group will be testing a new fast-casual concept called “The Meat Bar” there for lunch and dinner from October 13 to November 9, which coincides with the Broadway in Columbus production of The Lion King around the corner at the Ohio Theatre.
“It’s been tricky to balance between the Downtown office crowd and the theatre-going crowd, but we think this new concept is perfect to address that,” said Sarber. “Everything is still made from scratch, local and higher quality, but it’s fast casual to get people in and out.”
The Meat Bar will feature entrees priced between $6 and $9, ranging from slow roasted beef cheek to braised pork belly to duck confit. Sarber has brought back Chef Robert Harrison to craft the menu, who served as the original Executive Chef at de-NOVO Bistro & Bar.
Sarber says that if The Meat Bar is well-received, then it may end up becoming more of a full-time restaurant. If not, then FAB Dining Group may continue to rotate different pop-up concepts through the space while leasing the upstairs seating area for private events.
