The Mad Greek – Anyone tried it?

By: columbus_local

Have any of you tried this place around Town & Country on E. Broad St? I went there tonight for a gyro and salad, and have to say i was pretty damn impressed. For $5 i got a huge gyro, (although they claim it was their small) loaded with typical “greek fare”, but the spices just blew me out of the water. It was amazingly good! The greek salad was loaded with about 5 types of lettuce, feta, olives, tomatoes, green peppers, and the dressing was fabulous!

  • Mad Greek is one of my favorites. What I like to do is order the spanakopita (spinach feta pie), the chicken lemon soup, the calamari and the kopanisti (sp?) dip, all off the appetizer menu. It’s like a four course meal, but it all comes in (if I remember correctly) around $10 total.

  • I’ve never had a bad meal there. My only suggestion for them is to get a liqour license.

  • I live right down the street, we probably have them every other month. I’ve never had bad service or food. Well worth a try.

  • I have a lot of my training classes for work on E. 5th- and we eat at this place at pretty much every training for lunch.

first time i was there i just had the lentil soup and a greek salad, damn fine meal. i’ve worked my way through all of their pitas and most of the appetizers, all excellent- and you’ll feel the spices (garlic) for the rest of the day. damn fine meal.

The first time I read this, my brain interpreted it as, “I’ve never had bad service, and I’ve never had food.”

Oy. I’m ready to come home.
