The List: 10 Great Finds at May’s Moonlight Market on Gay Street

The Moonlight Market returns again to Gay Street tonight from 6pm to 11pm, bringing over 65 sidewalk and retail truck vendors to the street to compliment two dozen brick and mortar businesses that will be open for special late hours tonight. There’s quite a few new vendors set up this month and other special events happening. Here’s 10 things that you won’t want to miss out on tonight:

    1. The Return of Sugardaddy’s & Robert Mason – Both Sugardaddy’s and Robert Mason will return to Gay Street tonight following last month’s tragic fire that destroyed both brick-and-mortar businesses. Be sure to stop by to show your support, and pick up a Firehouse Brownie while you’re at it.
    2. Mother’s Day Eve – Just in case you forgot… tomorrow is Mother’s Day! The Moonlight Market is a perfect spot to pick up some last minute gifts for all types of moms… from candles to jewelry to clothing to food items. Or, bring your mom with you tonight and let her shop the market herself!
    3. Expansion Across Third Street – The Moonlight Market is busting at the seams! We’ve had so many vendors apply to participate that we’ve grown across Third Street to set up adjacent to the Latitude 41 patio and Cafe Rendezvous patio. Be sure to check out the extra vendors over there!
    4. Kolache Republic Pop-Up – This Brewery District cafe will be hosting a pop-up restaurant inside Cafe Brioso for one night only tonight. The owners plan to serve a mix of sweet and savory Kolaches.
    5. Il Mercato Expansion – Il Mercato debuted last month on the patio at Due Amici, selling retail wines, charcuterie and a selection of local and imported Italian products. The pop-up shop expands this month to the interior side room at Due for a bigger and better setup.
    6. More Live Music – Thanks to a partnership with GCAC, the Moonlight Market will have even more musicians and buskers present tonight. Keep an eye out for locals Byrd Manring, Chris Shaw, Tim Connor, A Cappella Mega Phunk and more in the coming months.
    7. The Return of Wholly Craft, What the Rock?!, Joy’s Fairy Floss, Actual Brewing Company – Quite a few of last year’s vendors weren’t able to join us in April, but they’re back in full force for May. Check out the four fan favorites mentioned above and keep an eye out for more tonight throughout the market.
    8. Famous Pancake Balls – Katalina’s Cafe Corner will be visiting the Moonlight Market tonight, selling their delicious pancake balls on Third Street in front of Latitude 41.
    9. Lily’s Mini Delights – This pop-up donut shop will be selling their gluten-free treats on the sidewalk in front of Rinkov Eyecare.
    10. Something for Dads Too – Yes, it’s Mother’s Day but the Moonlight Market is packed with cool things for dads too. Check out the Wooden Wallets from new vendor Bearded Woodcraft and the Beard Care products from Cliff Original.
