Casto Tapped to Manage Retail at Highline at Nine Development

Local development firm Casto officially announced today that they have been selected as the retail partner for the new Edwards Communities development at Ninth and High StreetsĀ in the University District. Additionally, the project has a new name: “The Highline at Nine”. Similarly, phase one of the development (which is currently under construction) is being redubbed as “One Pearl Place”.

“We have been friends and partners with Pete Edwards and his organization for many years and are thrilled to team up again on this dynamic new development,” said Don Casto, a Principal at Casto.Ā “We look forward to working to bring an exciting mix of retailers and restaurants to the project as an amenity for residents of The Highline at Nine, One Pearl Place and the surrounding community.”

Casto mentioned that One Pearl Place will be ready for its first residents this Spring/Summer, adding 250 apartments to the area. The Highline on Nine, which contains another 140 student-centric apartments and 22,000 square feet of retail, has not yet begun construction. It is slated for a Summer 2017 completion.

While the Edwards Communities development has often been referred to casually as an expansion of the South Campus Gateway, the new branding appears to be a move away from that name. Recently, the South Campus Gateway itself underwent a branding update, dropping “South Campus” from the title.
