The Tilted Kilt, located at 8665 Sancus Blvd. in the Polaris area, has garnered a reputation for being a guy’s bar because the waitresses there are dressed somewhat scantily. But this spot is ideal for groups of both sexes, families, and Buckeyes. Their multiple room and screen setup make it an ideal game-watching spot as everywhere you turn, there’s a screen.

The wings there are plump and served by the pound (8-10 depending on size). The Kilt Burner sauce is their version of the buffalo, and it’s not too tangy, not too rich, with a heat that builds by the bites. You can get them regular or grilled (what they’re known for), which adds a smoky dimension to the wings.

The Signature sauce is slightly sweet and not as spicy, but for those who don’t groove on the vinegariness of traditional buffalo flavor, this is a fine option. It’s finished with Asian Sweet Chili Sauce, so there’s also a savory element to the final product.

All of the wings at the Tilted Kilt are served with crispy celery sticks, and the customer’s choice of house-made ranch or blue cheese sauce, both of which are excellent, especially the ranch, which is buttermilk-y and not overly seasoned.

Hang out at the Tilted Kilt if your group likes an energetic environment, lots of testosterone in the air, and a variety of good beers. There are 33 taps, with an additional 20 bottles, and a well-stocked whiskey and scotch bar. The Tilted Kilt opens at 11am daily.

No Barley’s Smokehouse, which is local, amazing beer, has a number of tvs, including a large projection screen and the best wings in Columbus?

Seconded Barley’s Smokehouse for best wings…gates of hell sauce…yessssss.

  • Fear not, Barley’s definitely makes the Football Foodie list, just not for their wings, which I agree, are great. There’s something they make even better though, and that’s what will be featured. Stay tuned.

  • Jed’s Hilliard. Their decor might be hideous, but the wings are the best I ever had. Huge, meaty and tasty. That’s all I have to say about that..
