Jeff, well done! You were my #1 competetion! But after finishing half the sandwich, I kept an eye on you. After you did the coffee/water trick, I knew you were not totally focusing, so I kept eating…….. Then I kept an eye on you. You finished your sandwich, but you had a plate of fries. I kept an eye on you. You ate the fries in a manner which you ate one fry at a time by folding each fry. THEN! I knew I could beat you! So I chowed down the last two bite of my sandwich and swallowed. Well done Jeff. Next time!?

I am honored to have won the challenge.

“….pretty much the best day of my life” followed by the Chariots of Fire song was fuggin’ brilliant.

I have to give credit to JimL2 for suggesting Chariots of Fire be inserted at the end. That was his idea and it fit perfectly with the photo session.

Reliving the moment the first sandwiches arrived made me spit coffee LOL!

    CMH Gourmand Says:

It hurt me to see Core get so close…yet so far. It reminded me of when a marathon runner has a heart attack just before the finishline…..

One possibility - discussed with Jeff - is to put the entire thing in a blender and drink it.

However, that could be distracting to others so here is the 4 week training program for CoreModels

Eating a serving for fries every day

week one - one Double Beanier Burger at the Gahanna Grille

week two - The Quadruple Hambuger (location of this to be announced by me in April - the information is just too dangerous now)

week three - the Thurminator at Thurmans and watching the egg eating scene from Cool Hand Luke 10 times

Week Four - no breakfast on Dagwood Day, a long walk, and a pep talk from our 6 minute Dagwood challenge Hero! from Sopressta’s photos.

I am revising the food pyramid to meet Core’s needs for the next month - fries are one group and tater tots are another….. just need to figure out where the pickle goes.

You guys are all champs. I’m glad I was there to witness all that. I never could have gotten through half of that sandwich from hell. They have some tasty fries though.

Well, my idea was actually to put the CoF theme over a slow-mo montage of the winners eating their last bites. For the photo scene, I would have used Sarah McLachlan’s “I Will Remember You.” Just FYI to show how cool I am.

Seriously - that video cracked me up at 4 am last night, while relatively intoxicated. Thanks for helping Zach relive it and allowing me to see all of your beautiful stuffed faces.

LOL…Swan even kind of looks like the 6 minute champion of all time. The only thing more disgusting than him eating pie was watching the bread/water/coffee mixture being sipped like kool-aid.

Both will haunt my dreams for many days to come.

How dare you compare Josh Matko to an ordinary mortal??

Now an honest, swear-to-god true anecdote: Last night I dreamed about finishing the Dagwood. Apparently, not finishing was a big enough blow to my ego that my mind thought it had to pave over the damage.

WHO DARES MAKE DEMANDS OF THE MIGHTY WIZARD OF OZ JOSH MATKO

He’s (hopefully) in talks with Walker right now, trying to figure out if our love of his achievement is honest or not.

He seems like a popular guy going by facebook… hmm, I wonder if we can split him off into a mascot somehow, so he doesn’t have to deal with our insignificant questions on a daily basis.
