The Columbus Symphony officially announced its 2015 Picnic with the Pops season lineup today, which includes The Commodores, Chris Botti, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Pink Martini and others. The popular outdoor event series relocated to Columbus Commons in 2012, and has continued to entertain thousands of concert goers in the six acre park each season.

Chris Botti
Friday, June 19
Since the release of his 2004 critically acclaimed CD When I Fall in Love, Chris Botti has become the largest selling American jazz instrumental artist. His success has crossed over to audiences usually reserved for pop music, and his ongoing association with PBS has led to four #1 jazz albums, as well as multiple Gold, Platinum, and Grammy Awards.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

After more than 20 years in the music industry, the high-energy, nine-piece Big Bad Voodoo Daddy continues to swing big band style, urging millions of fans worldwide to shake and move while expanding their horizons with new musical inspiration and influence.

Patriotic Pops

Columbus’ grand summer tradition continues as the Columbus Symphony celebrates the Fourth of July. Wave the flag, clap your hands, and stomp your feet to patriotic favorites and rousing Sousa marches including “The Stars and Stripes Forever” and other favorites. The evening is topped off with a brilliant fireworks display.

Pink Martini

Somewhere between a ‘30s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical and chamber music ensemble, a Brazilian marching street band, and Japanese film noir soundtrack is the 12-piece, Oregon-based “little orchestra” known the world over as Pink Martini. Featuring 10-12 musicians, the group has brought their multilingual repertoire to audiences far and wide, extensively touring the US, Europe, and Far East.
U2 Symphony
