The owners of local hair styling salon The Blowout Bar will be opening their third location this spring, with a new space in The Short North. The business will replace party supply store Surprise at 941 N. High St., which recently announced plans to relocate to Clintonville.
“We’ve had our hearts set on the Short North for years,” said Kailen Echeverry, co-owner of The Blowout Bar. “We were just waiting for the perfect location. We look forward to bringing our concept to the Short North and joining one of the most exciting neighborhoods in Columbus.”
Echeverry, along with her business partner and sister Kristin DeJohn, opened their first location on Grandview Avenue in 2013 and a Dublin location in 2014. Instead of cutting hair, the concept provides hair styling and makeup services for special occasions. The new location will feature a unique interior design to reflect the urban nature of the Short North neighborhood, while drawing inspiration from salons in NYC.
“The Wood Companies is thrilled to introduce The Blowout Bar to the Short North community,” stated Mark Wood, president of Wood Companies. “We remain committed to growing the locally-owned, independent retail presence in the neighborhood and we feel The Blowout Bar’s unique brand and services will be an ideal addition to the District.”
No specific opening date has been announced yet. Stay tuned to Columbus Underground for more details.
