Another retailer has announced plans to close stores, joining a rapidly growing list in 2017. “This was a difficult decision, and we will be working with our employees and our customers to ease the transition,” the company stated on Facebook this evening. “We are grateful for our hard-working and dedicated employees and for our loyal customers who have supported us all these years. Thank you for everything you’ve done to make The Andersons a valued part of the Toledo and Columbus communities.”

There were no closing dates announced yet for the Columbus stores, which are located near Brice Road and I-70 on the East Side, and at the Sun Center plaza at Sawmill Road and Dublin-Granville Road.

The Maumee Ohio-based company was founded in 1940 with a focus on grain transportation and storage. The Andersons retail stores were opened in the 1980s, and their closure is the latest in a recent trend that also includes American ApparelThe LimitedKmart/Sears and Macy’s.
