Swampkitty has posted an amazing spread of photos on Flickr from the Taste of the Independents event that took place on Thursday. Below are 10 highlights from the set including sea scallops from The Refectory, octopus with Israeli caviar from Alana’s, lamb sliders from The Clarmont, lamb sirloin with sweet pea and mint pesto from Basi Italia, tomato and goat cheese bruschetta from Tutto Vino, shrimp and grits from G. Michael’s, and spicy green pea shooters from The Banana Bean Cafe.
To view them all, you can check out her flickr set right over here.

Oh man, I wish I’d've known about this event.
Well, there’s always next year! ;)
I posted my own review and photos here: http://www.walkerevanseffect.com/blog/taste-of-the-independents-2009-a-review/

That lamb slider… I think it was Claremont… yum… I had a blast at this event. Congrats to all the local indie restauraneurs.
Couldn’t make it this year, but it looks great! Kudos of the photography SwampKitty. You always impress!
If anyone who missed out wants to go to a very similar event this week, The North Market Apron Gala is on Saturday night! :D It’s also a fundraiser, same entry fee, and all-you-can-eat-and-drink private party afterhours at the North Market! Fun!
I’ve got tickets to sell. Send me an email at walkerevans@columbusunderground.com if interested!

We were lucky enough to attend last year, so we’ve been looking forward to it for months now.
