    Sweet Simpliciteas Opening Downtown Shop

Sweet Simpliciteas’ mission is to serve flavorful cups of gourmet loose tea. Last year, the small start-up, under the direction of local entrepreneur, Aisha Echols, won a Kickstart Columbus campaign, and this June, she’s ready to officially put her winnings to work.

The prizes for winning this highly-contested competition include a year’s free rent at a prime location: 259 South Third Street, near to the Columbus Commons. It is from here that the company sells nearly 30 varieties of gourmet loose tea blends.

Teas at Sweet Simpliciteas can be ordered by the cup (iced or hot) or in bulk for home preparation. Flavors include Chocolate Chip Chai, Strawberry Lemon Herb, Lady Marmalade, and Sweet Watermelon Oolong.

Sample pouches of teas cost $2.75, while a full 2 oz. purchase of tea leaves, enough for 15-20 8 oz. cups of tea, will only run $8.95-$9.95 per blend. Sweet Simpliciteas will also soon be adding pour-over coffee and bubble tea to the menu.

“Our teas are blended with all natural ingredients and premium teas leaves,” shares Echols. “Sweet Simpliciteas  offers a range of unique blends, so there is a cup of tea for everyone. So much peace and tranquility can be found in a simple cup of tea.”

Sweet Simpliciteas will also carry grab-n-go food items provided by Freedom à la Carte, as well as pastries from The Angry Baker. The shop will also sell Ohio-produced artisanal goods from Celebrate Local.

The grand opening party for Sweet Simpliciteas will be held over two days: Friday, June 13th, from 10am – 6pm, and on Saturday, June 14th, from 10am – 5pm. There will be drink specials, door prizes, free samples and more.

Sweet Simpliciteas is currently open Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm, and Saturday, from 10am – 4pm. For a longer look at Sweet Simpliciteas offerings, visit www.sweetsimpliciteas.com.
