    Sugardaddy’s Launches Firehouse Brownie

In honor of the service of the Columbus Division of Fire after last night’s fire at their Downtown location, Sugardaddy’s Sumptuous Sweeties owners Lisa and Dan Anglim have renamed their signature Fiery Brunette brownie to Firehouse Brunette.

“We were more worried about the four firefighters injured while at our shop than we were about the condition of the store,” said Lisa Anglim. “We are extremely grateful at the responsiveness of our city’s firemen and women and those groups reaching out to us to find temporary space. This glitch showcases just how great of a city Columbus is for small business owners.”

The gourmet Firehouse brownie is described as their “hot chocolate” flavor, made with chipotle and cinnamon for a slow-burn kick.

Anglim said that their company has received calls of support and help from various business owners and organizations including, NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), J. Gumbo’s, 39 Below, Residence Inn, Michael Stinziano’s office, and Columbus Underground since the incident.

“We have not made a decision regarding the temporary or permanent space moving forward at this time,” she stated. “We so appreciate the help the community is offering.”

In addition to delivering brownies to the firefighters who responded yesterday, Anglim is planning to organize a new annual event showcasing small business owners in the community.

“There is always a sliver lining in every situation,” she added. “The level of comradery we immediately experienced from the community is astonishing. An annual small business gathering on April 15th that brings together business owners sharing how they overcame challenging and unforeseen situations seems appropriate. Maybe we’ll even call the gathering IGNITE Columbus to pay homage to yesterday’s events while also highlighting businesses and start-ups.”

Customers who want to show support for Sugardaddy’s can visit their Lewis Center / Polaris location or order online at www.Sugardaddys.com.
