Columbus-based Community Research Partners revealed their latest “DataByte” study that has discovered an interesting trend. The organization has found a near-perfect correlation between the OSU Men’s Basketball teams’s performance and the national corn industry production dollars. If the past 11 years of data is correct, that means that means that 2015 could be a bad year for both local and national corn producers.
“The high number of wins in the 2006-2007 season, which saw the Buckeyes progress to the NCAA National Final, corresponds to a peak in corn production,” states the study published on CRP’s website today. “With 24 Wins this past season (down from 25 last season), does this suggest a $107M loss in corn production for 2015?”
