Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer just announced yesterday that they will be touring the country this summer to perform “unplugged and unwigged” versions of their Spinal Tap classics along with other songs from their collaborative movie projects. The Columbus stop on the tour takes place on May 17th at the Palace Theater. Tickets go on sale Friday morning at 10am via TicketMaster.com. Tickets start at $43.

Oh, man. The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin’, that’s what I said.
The majesty of rock, the mystery of roll!

That’s what I’m talkin about!
looks good?
HAH! I saw them on their “Break Like the Wind” tour ages ago. My friend Alyssa (the one who wanted to go and who bought the tickets) kept complaining afterward that the whole show “was just so scripted and fake.”
“Um, Alyssa, did you notice that the band was the guy who does half the voices on The Simpsons, the six-fingered man from Princess Bride and Lenny from Laverne and Shirley?” She had NEVER seen the movie but really liked hair bands, so there we were!
YES!!!!! Totally getting tickets! Wheeeee!
You know, I’m a little torn on this. Spinal Tap is one my favorite movies and I’ve probably seen it, oh, 50+ times. The fact that they’re doing it unplugged and without costumes does disturb me. To adopt a metaphor, “I don’t want this, I want large…bread.”
