Campus Partners announced today that several new office and retail tenants are coming soon to the South Campus Gateway.
The two retail tenants include the previously mentioned Kildare’s Irish Pub, which is replacing the McFadden’s, as well as the newly announced Jed’s Fireballs Xpress, which will be located on E. 11th Avenue.
Jed’s Fireballs & Brew is a Toledo-based establishment that expanded into Central Ohio recently with a Hilliard location. The “Xpress” concept will focus on their signature dish: fried, breaded, boneless chicken breast tenders served with one of sixteen sauces.
The long-empty former Sunflower Market space will be landing a new office tenant with the relocation of the Ohio State University Technology Commercialization & Knowledge Transfer Center. This space will provide an environment to foster idea formation and creativity and will be led by new Tech Commercialization VP Brian Cummings.
The final tenant announcement comes in the way of a new art gallery space, being opened by the Ohio Sate University College of Arts and Sciences, which will be located in the alley of the Gateway.
“We are pleased to provide more restaurant, arts and entertainment options at South Campus Gateway and to welcome the employees and customers of the new office tenants,” said Doug Aschenbach, President of Campus Partners. “It is great to see the momentum grow at Gateway and throughout the southern part of the University District.”
Additionally, Campus Parnters announced that the residential apartments at the South Campus Gateway are currently 99% leased for the 2011-2012 school year, and office space at the Gateway is at 100% capacity. Retail occupancy is now up to 87% full.

I could think of 2 good tenants for the old Sunflower market, H&M or Forever 21. Seems like a no brainer for campus.
I think Pitaya is along the same lines as Forever 21 and has been at the Gateway practically forever, so I imagine they do pretty well there: http://www.pitaya.com
Shoot, I was hoping against hope that a Trader Joe’s would go in the old Sunflower space. A guy can dream…
Thank goodness something is going into the Sunflower space. Hopefully they can do something cool with the interior and exterior.
