    Shop Talk: Bundle Vintage Store

Welcome to Bundle, a vintage shop tucked into Clintonville where aisles are filled with properly sculpted china and unique trinkets, all of which is set at an affordable price.

“If you’re a student and you need a small table I’ve got it,” says store owner Marty Martunas. “If you want some sort of trinket we have that too, if you want a unique gift it’s here as well.”

For years, owner Martunas spent her professional life at antique shows, flea markets, and vintage marketplaces setting up bodacious booths with vintage items for sale. It wasn’t until late November that she decided to jump on an opportunity to open Bundle. Shelves and floors are filled with fine wooden furniture that has been aged to perfection, Victorian style arm chairs dressed in a golden fabric, and neatly detailed lamps perfect for any vintage junkie.

Martunas takes pride in the pieces she sells and even uptakes projects if she feels like an item needs more detailing before she displays it on the floor for sale. Take her repurposed picture frames for instance, which are enclosed with photos of her favorite rock artists from the sixties. One features a photo of The Jimi Hendrix Experience walking from a flight in London. Pay enough attention and one may notice Jimi’s perfectly creased bellbottoms and a Sonny Boy Williamson record neatly tucked under his arm. Bundle is personal and its personality is what makes the shop so unique.

“I buy from a design aspect, taking into mind how the item will work in a home,” explains Martunas. “I don’t conform to a specific style or time period. I try to find a bit of everything — mid-century, trendy and antique pieces, because  I can’t just treat the store as if it were a museum.”

The products featured on Bundle’s floors are a mix of ‘as found’ items and projects that have undergone some work in Martunas’ interior design lab where she may spiff up, finish, repaint, or distress a product she deems unsuitable to showcase.

“I enjoy the projects just as much as I enjoy owning the store,” she explains.

Bundle is located at 3246 N High St. and is open Thursday through Saturday from 10:00am-6:00pm and on Sundays from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Bundle currently has no active website.
