Shop Local Holiday Guide: Tigertree
The final two weeks of holiday shopping are upon us! That means that if you still have gifts to buy for friends and loved ones, your time is winding down. In order to assist, we’ve reached out to a wide variety of local shops, stores, and boutiques to find out which of their three most popular “must have” items can still be found on their shelves.
Next we have 3 suggestions from Josh Quinn, Owner of Tigertree, a men’s & women’s boutique in The Short North.
“De*Nada Scarves - Delightfully imaginative scarves that prove you can bundle up and still look good. $48-$54″
“Maxine, Dear Belt Buckles - Like a time capsule for your waist. Maxine, Dear belt buckles capture an image from a vintage book cover and seal it away in a crystal clear, thick layer of resin for years of enjoyment. In many cases we are able to provide the book the image was taken from as well. We are happy to help customers find a theme, title or image to make just the right statement. Since the images are taken directly from the book cover, every buckle is completely one of a kind. We are also happy to provide custom work with photos or artwork. $32″
“Too Late Watches - These super fun, super cheap, watches just came in from Italy. They can be worn alone or stacked up in whatever color combinations you can dream up. The buckle-less silicon band makes for the most comfortable watch I have ever worn. They are also completely waterproof. Perfect for cycling, the gym, pool, office, golf course, traveling, hiking, or anything else in your life. $24″

Josh modestly neglected to mention a couple of things about those Maxine, Dear products: one, they are his and Niki’s brainchild; and two, they’ve gotten national attention. Last I’d heard they were being carried at Bergdorf Goodman. http://bit.ly/5wfEQG

Tiger Tree has a really eclectic mix - for men and women - and most of their stuff is really affordable/reasonably priced, which can be difficult to find in a great boutique shop.
Plus, you get a free gift card to Tiger Tree with the purchase of $50 or more - if you use The SBB Community Card. (It’s free. Like a Giant Eagle “card” for your key chain, except The SBB CC is good for discounts to local shops and restaurants.)

That belt buckle caught my attention. I’m a sucker for 50’s era space renderings. I didn’t see any representatives on the site, but in the near future? Here’s a site with some cool art.

I love my Maxine, Dear wallet from Tigertree! It was a birthday gift from Josh & Niki two years ago, and I’ve hopefully returned the favor to them by telling everyone who asks about it (which happens at least once a week) that it came from Tigertree. ;)
