Heard this place closed already from someone that works next door.

the time we went there after a movie there were no other customers. The fries were frozen from a brown bag and came with too much salt(we couldn't eat them, a waste). Other than that, the grilled meats and stuffed grape leaves were good. I'd stick with Lavash after trying here.

We went there for lunch and I thought it was mediocre, especially compared to say Ali Baba's up the street.

Friends had gyro and fries. They said the gyros were good so that's a plus, but I tried one of the fries and it was a sub-par order of BKing fries. I had shish kabob and the meat was well cooked (both as in well done and as in done after the gyro guys had finished their meals) and the meat was fairly flavorless. I had the hummus and thought it was bland, plus they just serve it alone, nothing to eat it with.

I'd probably go with other people, but would likely never go back on my own volition. Oh! They have good rice, it does at least taste like it's cooked with stock of some sort. And the kebabs look pretty in the case. But yeah, otherwise.... eh.

The menu was actually pretty extensive despite the "express" title, and they do have a bunch of entrees that are served on a plate with rice rather than in a wrap or sandwich. You can check out the menu online here: http://shishexpress.com

Walker (or anyone who went), I have celiac's disease, and thus cannot eat wheat products. I love Greek, Mediterranean, and Middle eastern food. I noticed the menu, for the Dublin location, has a wide range of options including more traditional items served on rice or not in a wrap.

Is this location more "fast" oriented (as the title suggests) meaning a heavy emphasis on sandwich/wrap items.

Thanks

Mini-Review! ;)

I just stopped by tonight to grab some dinner to go. The layout is still pretty similar to the way Pesto was set up, but with the kebab'ed meats on display in the front it reminds me a bit of Lavash Cafe as well. The owner (Ahmet Karaca) was there when I stopped by and we chatted a bit. He sounds really excited to have this new centralized location, and said that their opening lunch was really busy.

I ordered the Adana kebab (ground lamb) wrap, an appetizer of hummus, and Ahmet threw in some free deserts to try, some Baklava and Kazandibi. The wrap was awesome, and the hummus was pretty good too. The wait for the food didn't take very long considering that they grill your meats to order. Everything was really fresh. Anne & I both loved the Baklava, and I was a bigger fan of the Kazandibi than she was. All in all, some really excellent food, and good prices. Sandwiches & wraps are in the $6-$8 range, so it shouldn't be too hard to leave with a full stomach for around $10.

Here's a few photos I snapped with my iPhone:

Thank goodness something useful went in that space...now if someone took over the old Sunflower storefront, that would be beneficial for all the Gateway businesses.
