Ok, so I said that I would stray away from the chains and stuff like that but I wanted to try this place for the longest time so I thought the roomie and I could check it out and were very impressed. If you haven’t ever been to one of these you should check it out because I personally like it better than First Watch.
When you first walk in there is a sign that gaurentees you seating in less than 15 minutes or you get free coffee which already had me stoked cause I am a caffine junky. Unfortunatly / Fortunately they got us seated in 10 which I have never heard before consideringering there was a line of about 30 people and it was mothers day. SO, no free coffee but its awesome that they have that deal.
The service was quick and very helpful and our orders were taken right away. The menu is very similar to that of a First Watch where they only serve up to 3 pm and there is a breakfast / brunch kinda menu. Cool points awarded to the pancakes and french toast specials because if you order a full order there are refills allowed. Thats right, endless pancakes or french toast on any of the dishes. I know thats a lot of eating but if there are any other marathon in training peeps out there like me I know that you can put that food away.
Anyway I had the breakfast burritto of course and the thing was gynormous. Stuffed with vegis, chorizo, peppers, and tons of eggs. This was no meager challenge. I got it with some fresh fruit and was very much pleased. Good flavor, nice fluffy eggs and stuffed to the brim. My roomate got a ham and cheese omlette where you can pick a bread and a side. He was very pleased with the blue berry muffin he got. Looked a lot better than anything you could get from a Perkins or something like that. Other choices for sides on the menu allowed for biscuts, english muffin, etc.
I highly recommend this place for breakfast / brunch. There are four locations so plenty of em to go around. What do you guys all think?

I’ve been to Scramblers a few times (both the one on Sancus near Polaris and the one on Cleveland (don’t know if the latter is still there or not).
I didn’t know of the fast seating deal – sounds nice. I don’t recall a particularly long wait, I guess that’s why. I thought the food was really good, the service decent, but for some reason there weren’t a lot of things on the menu that really caught my attention. The Rocky Top Toast was really good, but I thought the skillet breakfasts that I’ve tried were more on the bland side.
I rate Scramblers & First Watch about on the same level, with FW maybe getting a LITTLE of an edge for me, just because they have some different menu items that I enjoy – the Eggs Benedict Florentine (spinach, avacado & tomato) especially, but I also enjoy their burrito vera cruz & the caps etc.
I’m a big fan of Scramblers’ Uncle Moose’s Manhandler. Potato chunks covered with ham, bacon, sausage, onions and cheese, then they put two basted eggs on top. It’s almost too much food to eat at once.
I meet with a group of guys every Friday morning at the Scrambler’s on Sancus. Their breakfast menu is great – may not be as unique as places such as Northstar, but it’s always filling, always inexpensive, and the wait staff there is great. It’s fun being a regular and looking forward to that weekly greeting.
And one guy in our group has ordered the Uncle Moose Manhandler so many times that he’s finally been dubbed Uncle Moose.
I’ve been a few times. I like it better than First Watch because the pancakes are better (I think the ones at First Watch taste funny because of the baking soda?). At Scramblers, Ive gotten the Wisconsin sramble, which is eggs with different kinds of cheese, and lots of it! I comes with hasbrowns, which are the diced kind. The only problem I’ve had with it is that the tables are very crowded together. That means that on busy Sunday mornings, its very loud and not a lot of wiggle room. Good food, good price.
Yeah, when we lived in Hilliard, I had that one quite a few mornings.
Lots of tabasco.
Oh yeah, shouts out to another Toledo, Ohio product!
I definitely understand chain-avoidance. But there’s chains, and then there’s McDonalds. This place has just 14 locations, most of which are only a few years old. First store opened in 1990.
Love their menu. Lots of neat twists on the standard eggs and pancakes.
Love Scramblers…Loved Cafe Marie’s back in Toledo…Its been a family favorite for breakfast for over 10 years.
The one on the east side (Gahanna/Hamilton Rd) is super shitty, bad service, and always dirty, it’s new too so it sucks.
We now go to the one on Sancus and always have a decent expereince.
it’s a lot of food for a not too high price…. better then bob evans type of places for breakfast!
That stinks. We usually go to the one in Powell off Presidential/Sawmill since its close to my parent’s house down here. I have never had any issues with cleanliness or bad service at that one.
i’ve only been once to the polaris location, and though i usually give everything a second chance i just haven’t here. we had a turrrrible server, and after subbing egg whites and a couple ingridients in my omellete, i ended up with like an $11 price tag. our final bill was way out of line, and none of us found the food worth enduring the poor service or emptying our wallets.
I went to college at UT and Cafe Marie’s was usually where we’d hit Sunday morning breakfast (or brunch depending on how long Saturday night went into Sunday morning). I’ve always had decent service and food at any of the locations I’ve been to here and up in Toledo. The service can be spotty but with any retail food establishment with decent turnover I’d say that’s bound to happen anywhere. Also, their orange juice is fantastic, I think (correct me if I’m wrong) it’s actually fresh squeezed there.
