By: Anne

This Saturday, there are so many events going on that you will really need a good reason to stay inside! The Komen Race for the Cure is in the morning. Then you can go to Village Valuables, the biggest Yard Sale of the city located in German Village from 8am to 3pm.  Agora is happening all day at Junctionview Studios.  The King Arts Complex is having their annual fundraiser, the 22nd Anniversary Gala: Tapestry on Saturday, beginning at 8pm. Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus is having their annual fundraiser, forte from 6pm to 10pm at Pomerene Hall on OSU’s Campus! The North Market’s fundraiser, the Apron Gala, is happening from 7pm to 10pm. Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus will be at Nationwide Arena. The Eco-Chic Craftacular is going on at the Whetstone Community Center on Saturday and Sunday. Swing Columbus is having a dance event all weekend long in various venues. Rock on the Range is happening at Crew Stadium Saturday and Sunday. • So… what’s everyone doing this weekend? We’re going to hit Agora and the Apron Gala for sure, and I think Anne’s going to the Eco-Chic Craftacular. How about you?

  • There’s a trunk preview show by Milk Bar at the Jeffrey rooftop tomorrow, too. 2-8.

  • Race for the Cure, of course. Then a long nap and we’ll see if we’re up for anything more than a backyard bbq.

  • Checking out Ben Lee at the basement tonight, and the rooftop with milk bar tomorrow.

  • I plan on hitting the Wexner for Gary Hustwit’s Objectified tonight, and Liquid for a burlesque show tomorrow evening.

  • Hmmmm… my weekend holds: Hanging out with friends, Race for the Cure, Village Valuables, Apron Gala, brunch, cocktails on patios …. so SUMMER

  • And CCAD graduation.

  • The Ohio Roller Girls will also be playing on Saturday with a single header. They take on The Gem City Pistol Whips from Dayton Ohio. Doors are at 3:30, game at 4. You can Race, go get some valuables, check out craftacular, see the roller girls and still be done by 5:30 to go to agora.
    See http://www.ohiorollergirls.com for more info.

  • Team Rivet is walking in Race for the Cure.  Then I’ll be working at the store/gallery until 7.  Probably stop by Agora for a bit (if we do not do so tonight).

  • Saw “Objectified” tonight, it was good.  Not as good as Helvetica but it was intriguing.  It’s worth checking out.

  • Just got back from volunteering at Race for the Cure with Rockmastermike.  We’re hoping to make it to Agora this evening with his visiting dad and stepmom.
