Roosters may rule roost at ballpark

Roosters wings are a fixture at Columbus Clippers games on Thursday nights and now, with the team moving to a new stadium next year, the restaurant chain’s franchising arm is looking to make the relationship more permanent.
Shannon Foust, president of Roosters Franchising LLC, confirmed the two sides are negotiating a deal to put a Roosters restaurant in Huntington Park. He declined to go into detail on the negotiations.

their ok…. the wings are good but the other food is just bar stuff. they should do a fridays. hmm they good french onion soup. :D
i agree. roosters is okay from time to time but a Fridays or TGIF would do great. Hell, they could throw in a Red Robin. not everyone will be into wings all the time and bar stuff can only go so far. they need a place with a great full menu. thats just my two cents.
i dont know if that would be the best fit for a clippers game but i just happen to like fridays and there just none around here anymore. you got to go out to the burbs, and i hate driving out there if i dont have to.
Id be down for Roosters. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Im a huuuuge fan of the fried chicken sandwich in hot sauce…mmmm :)
Friday’s? No. If you really want to eat at Fridays you can drive to the burbs for it. Fridays is pretty much the epitome of bland culture-free american chain food. Let’s keep our Downtown area as original as possible.
I can get behind Roosters as they’re at least a Columbus-based chain, and they’re pretty much a sports bar anyway. Will make a good spot for pre/post baseball game hangouts.
Am I reading you right? you want a Fridays? not trying to be a snob, but I can’t say I’ve ever met people who really liked TGIF, more often it just happened to be there and no other options, so yeah, despite being the self appointed center of the chain universe I’d love to NOT have a fridays in the downtown (look how nice it looks in Times Square), save them for the Polaris’s of the world, i would take a Roosters at the ballpark however, especially since they’ve been at the clippers games for a while now.
personally i watch those Friday’s commercials for the pick 3 menu and almost feel like throwing up. everything is smothered in 8 types of grease and fat. it seems to be the root of several issues.
i’ve never been to Roosters, but I presume besides wings they have burgers and beer on tap, which will work for the ball park. i wonder if they will configure it for entry from the outside on non-game days?
Given that this is replacing:
1) an abandoned gas station that was closed by the OEPA/BUSTR for *excessive* releases of gasoline into the soil and groundwater that made it all the way to the scioto river. The construction of the ballfield removed 2 previously unknown underground storage tanks with tags from the 1930s and a LOT of contaminated soil and other materials…
2) several crumbling, infested, industrial buildings with varying degrees of asbestos remediation required by the county before demolition…
3) a giant pile of debris, some of which was actually neat limestone pieces, from the Ohio State Pen demolition, but was essientially a trash pile…
…they could put in a mcDonalds/whorehouse/crackhouse next to the ballfield and it would *still* be a massive neighborhood improvement.
Besides…. everyone knows you eat DIME SLIDERS at a Clippers game!
I’ve never been to a Roosters. Sounds like a Hooters. Is this a topless joint?
nah, kind of cheesy, but really pretty decent wings and just a sawdust on the floor style bar type bar.

Cool. Worth a shot.
roosters blows. there i said it.
want good wings? Barleys.
and speaking of chain restaurants, my fav is Applebees. (if you have to)
I’m not sure if I’ve ever been to an Applebees. When I travel abroad and get burned out on the local food I’ll digress and hit a TGI Fridays. There I said it.
I’d say get a clue from Toledo, and put a Tony Packo’s in there. Best Hungarian Sausage-EVER! They also have a great menu with stuffed cabbage and other items as well. The chili is great too. I know it is normally linked to the Mud Hens, but it is Ohio Based, and it’s good, cheap eats. If you are ever in Toledo, try it!
Go Clippers!

I’d say to hit the German Village location with some friends. Order many beers and be prepared to wait an hour for your food. It’s not a good place if you’re hungry and are in a hurry, but not bad if you want to hang out and watch sports and get some cheap food.
re: page one of this thread…
fridays and tgif are two different businesses?

Yep, 100%
The GV location is kind of different. I went in there a few years back, and like an asshole i said “make them as spicy as you can”.
The local crew did, I literally had burn marks in a giant circle around my month for 3 weeks.
I appreciated that about them.
No. Neither is Hooter’s. Too bad: There’s a Roosters right by my house.

These are only several of your many “rebel scars.” That’s why you’re sweet!
