By: Walker

Local bike store Roll: will be opening their third Columbus location this May at 1510 W. Lane Avenue near Whole Foods. According to their blog, the building is already under construction, and this new Upper Arlington store will be their largest location to date.

More information can be found on their website here.

  • I wondered what that construction was for.  Should be a great addition to Lane Ave.  Any word on what the new buildings further west on Lane are going to be?  They look geared towards restaurants…

Now all Lane Avenue needs is a bike Lane (get it?).

  • Awesome, especially considering I just put in an application for :roll this weekend. Great to see local businesses expending, even in the economic mess.

  • @Andrew – you would be a perfect fit for Roll.

  • Thanks. Competition is getting fierce for hours at my current job and would love to find something to either augment or replace.

  • Roll is really going places. Stuart is a world class entrepreneur who happens to have a passion for cycling that is equal to his entrepreneurial expertise. You couldn’t go wrong working there.

  • Honestly, I always assumed that Roll: was a national chain since their locations are only at Easton and Polaris. Color me surprised to find out that they’re local! Good to hear that they’re growing strong! :D

  • They also have a location in Dayton, if I am not mistaken.

  • @Walker – I agree and I would guess that’s a long term goal. The founder has a lot of experience in retail design, branding, etc., which really comes through in the store and shopping experience.

  • The proximity to frontrunner is a good thing for the triathletes.  Now if only there were a running store within running distance of downtown I would be really excited!

  • A friend and I were just commenting on how sad the shoppes on Lane are right now. They just built a classy row of retail across the street and I hope to see the quality of shopping in UA taken up a notch or two. Grandview Yard ought to do this as well.

YAY for roll – they carry Paul Frank bikes and a number of very modern aesthetic options – Like button please

  • I like their website.  Kinda wish they had a few bikes in the 350ish range for the more casual cyclists/commuters but it is always good to see more LBS’s popping up.

  • ^ Would you be willing to travel to a shop with such a selection? (within the outerbelt)

  • @cc  check out paradise garage in the short north.  they have quite a few options for around that price

  • Greetings from Dayton.  Yes, there is a roll: store here at The Greene which is like Easton.  Speaking of cruisers around ~$350 here’s a nice one reviewed by the roll: blog for $389.
