    Rife’s Market Closing their Doors

After 78 years in business, Rife’s Market, located at 1417 West Fifth Avenue is closing their doors for good. The family-owned operation has anchored the corner of Fifth and Grandview Avenues for the better part of a century, and the great-granddaughter of the original owner says that its time to call it quits after much consideration.

A call to the store confirmed that while there is no specific closing date in mind, the staff has begun the process of selling out their remaining inventory and working toward a closing date.

The closing marks the second grocery loss for nearby residents, as the Giant Eagle across the street at 1451 West Fifth Avenue closed in conjunction with the opening of the new Grandview Yard store just a mile away.

Rife’s Market is open from 9am to 7pm Monday through Saturday and Sundays from 10am to 6pm until their closing date. For more information, visit www.rifesmarket.com.
