I had dinner there last night and was really pleased. The vereniki were delicious. It was unusual that the blini were cold but they were still tasty. The wait staff was really nice too. I’d definitely go back.

Does anyone have another link, say to their website? The links to their menus isn't working for me.

Sounds like this place is in the old Chinese restaurant, right? I figured it would be going out of business but it took longer than I thought.

I thought it was an incredibly large space for them. Unless I am extremely under-judging the market for Russian food here. Which I might be. I think they could have really nice events there though.

every time i drive past that place (bout 3-4 times a week) it’s always empty. How many places has that building been now?

I had lunch recently at Hawa. The borsht had a clean, bright flavor and with the perioshki accompaniment and bread, could have been a light lunch. I belive this soup could convert the avid beet avoider, it was that good. It may even cure the common cold!!! I couldn't stop with soup only though, and ordered the beef blintzes, which I cannot recommend. The beef tasted mealy and dry and did not have any other flavor. I ate way too much bland ground beef in my youth to enjoy that dish. If you are a ground beef purist on the other hand-have at it. My lunch guest ordered the cabbage roll, which was the best I have ever tasted: moist, well seasoned, and topped with a sauted peppers and onions. We ordered "Russian cakes" (how it's listed on the menu) to go, and it was inedible. It had that "been in the walk in uncovered way too long" flavor. It was made of layers of puff pastry with a scant bit of pastry cream and sliced bananas between. It may have been good the first day it was made, but even that was hard to judge. We also took away beef stroganoff for a workmate. We snuck a bite and were very pleased. There was a rich mushroom flavor, the meat was tender, and the accompanying mashed potatoes were from scratch. The lunch prices were quite reasonable.

I will definiteily go back, maybe to experience the live Russian singers on some Saturday night. I will eat dessert at the restaurant next time so it can be sent back just in case stale pastry is the norm.
