I had visited the Happy Greek in the Short North several times, but this was my first experience with the new restaurant in the Gateway.
I assumed it would be comparable with my other pleasant past experiences. Boy, was I wrong.

I’ve always had a great time and great service at this location.
A bum waitress can make all the difference too though.

I’ve only been to the Gateway location once, and it was for lunch, but I didn’t have any problems at all with service or portions. Both were just fine. Nothing stands out as spectacular (other than the gyro size, which is fairly large), but just fine.
That said, I do sympathize with the reviewer over the gratuity – I’ve also been in large groups, gotten HORRIBLE service, and then been stuck with the automatic 20% gratuity. It’s like a spit in the face after dealing with crappy service…
I have eaten at The Happy Greek at the south gateway plenty of times and it has always been EXCELLENT!!! I agree, you may have had poor service, but give it another chance.
Agreed, I have eaten at the Happy Greek at South Gateway as well as the one in the Short North numerous times. At both locations I have received awesome food and service. Definitely give it another try!

Couldn’t access the review on Happy Greek at Drexel Gateway, but it sounds like we made a good decision walking past that and choosing Mad Mex instead on Friday night. Thai curry tofu burritos at Mad Mex = the best thing ever!
