My girlfriend’s store, Red Rover Consignment and Resale, a second hand clothing store for babies, kids and teens, is now open in Clintonville. Her goal is to offer cool, alternative styles for kids of all ages in a boutique-style store.
Red Rover carries funky clothes, rock n’ roll onesies and bibs, totes, hats, European style dresses and sweaters, and more. And the prices are very affordable.
The store also features the artwork of local illustrator (and CCAD grad) Tom Williams, who painted the sign and interior murals. Tom’s work is amazing, and has been featured in the graphic novel No Dead Time.
Hopefully you’ll check it out during your holiday shopping outings. Red Rover is located in Clintonville at 3171 N. High St., between North Broadway and Weber Rd. (right next door to Wholly Craft!) More information is available at on the website or by calling 614-262-8778.

ARe we going to save money by shopping here?the concept sounds great, I would just worry that they would be “so cool” that it would not really be a super alternative because prices might be higher, non?
I don’t mind paying a little bit more if it means I’m supporting a local business.
And while it’s crazy to spent tons of money on kid’s clothes that they’re going to grow out of so quickly, it’s reasonable to have a few nice items here and there.
I’m sure we’ll be checking the place out pretty soon. :D
I’m heading there this weekend for my nephew, and also interested in looking at the art classes for him…sounds pretty cool to me.
I will be there Saturday, if you’re open. My daughter needs new clothes, but I’ve literally been unable to drag myself to the Twin Hells called Easton and Polaris.
She needs scarves, hats, gloves, pants and whatever else looks fun. Can’t wait… and Jesus God I am going to be in trouble with you guys located right next to Wholly Craft. $$$ :)
I walk past Red Rover several times a day and it sure is a cute store with cool kids clothes. I hope it does really well!
PS – I adore the sign!
I am glad someone is doing this in Columbus, it’s a great idea that is past it’s time here.
I would really like to see a store carry some Zutano stuff, at least the accessories & toys.
Huge thanks to everyone for the support!!
We will be open this weekend (Sat from 10-6 and Sun from 12-5)
We’re definitely not pricey. I have a daughter myself and am very aware of the need to be thrifty when it comes to buying clothes for her, since she grows out of them so quickly.
There are certain sizes we are still on the lookout for 2T thru 6 girls’ stuff and any size boys’ stuff, but we definitely have a good start.
Thanks for checking us out!
-Wendy
I hope I am a long time off from needing your wares, but I look forward to checking them out.
I will have to drop by. Do you offer more than just cool rock n roll onesies…I see those at a handful of kids’ stores, but I can never find some cool stuff for a 5 year-old boy.
I printed some stuff up last night just for red rover that is max’s size.
They’ve also got the only Damon Zex and Zachary Allan Starkey onesies in the world.
Red Rover carries funky clothes, rock n’ roll onesies and bibs, totes, hats, European style dresses and sweaters, and more.
Wow, you guys carry a variety of stuff!
Yep, we have quite a bit of stuff packed into a small space and we’re always on the lookout for more.
The tees that Daniel printed up are super cool, especially the onesies (which are prominently displayed in the window right now!) Thanks again, Daniel. It was nice meeting you!
Oh, and we definitely have stuff for boys in size 5T. Some cool sweaters, cargos, button up shirts and tees.
Thanks! Also, I think this has been covered, but you buy gently used clothes as well?
We sure do! I’m always on the lookout for boys’ stuff too. Feel free to stop in anytime – no need for an appt.
Stopped in today and got some stuff for my kid– two cute sweaters.
Shopkeeper was very very nice! Love the store, can’t wait till you guys get more stuff, too.
Then dropped a bundle at Wholly Craft– Clintonville just gets better every day.
I went into Red Rover a short while back to check it out. Seeing I live in the neighborhood, I figured I’d see what was up.
Oh my gosh, I love it! So cute. The sign is adorable!
They seemed to have a good selection of clothes for kids. I went in to scope out the accessories and was a little sad to find that there weren’t any. But I did get to speak with the owner and she was absolutely charming.
And from the looks of it, they’re offering quite a few crafty workshops, which is great!
I keep hoping that Wholly Craft and Red Rover join forces and obliterate the bottom feeder Check Cashing place next door, making room for another cool locally owned shop.
Well— I got a Christmas card from Red Rover, with a coupon inside and a handwritten note!! What a nice way to do business!
Just thought I’d give a shout out, because you don’t see that everyday. Guess I won’t be going to Target anymore for rugrat clothes :D .
Thanks! :D
manatee – I’m so glad the card made it to you before the holiday! I was worried that I sent them out too late (I’m a bit of a procrastinator)
luckycoloryellow – thx for stopping in! I love this kind of feedback b/c it helps me understand what people are looking for. I’ll definitely put my feelers out for accessories and such.
happy holidays!
I am hoping to stop in this week! I have waaaaay too many clothes for my little one, so I’ll be bringing some in, but I also love to find new and interesting pieces for him too! ;)
