The Columbus Foundation is seeking nominations for The Spirit of Columbus Award, a new honor recognizing an individual who has exhibited an exemplary community spirit through their accomplishments.

The winner will have the opportunity to select a nonprofit of their choice from PowerPhilanthropy® to receive $5,000 and will be honored at an upcoming event. All nominations must be received by noon EST on April 10, 2013.
In 1964, Jerrie Mock, a Bexley housewife and mother of three, climbed into her single-engine Cessna with “Spirit of Columbus” emblazoned on its side. Taking off from Port Columbus, she became the first woman to fly solo around the world. Learn more at columbusfoundation.org.
