The North Market announced today that German Village bakery Pistacia Vera will be opening a bakery stand at the market by December 1st. The move is a bit of a return to the area for business owners and siblings Spencer Budros and Anne Fletcher, who operated Pistachio in the Short North before renaming and relocating to German Village in 2007.
“We are Columbus kids whose Saturday mornings were spent at the Quonset hut,” said Fletcher. “For us, the North Market forever has been the great food landmark for our city. We are truly honored by the invitation to become a part of such a dynamic and supported community.”
In their nine years of operation, Pistacia Vera has quickly become a community favorite, winning acclaim as the best dessert of both 2011 and 2012 by Columbus Underground readers.
“Pistacia Vera is world class in every way, we proudly welcome them to our NoMa family,” said Rick Wolfe, Executive Director of the market.
