Well, the demolition of the Firestone mansion was completed today. Despite informing the Columbus Foundation, Columbus Landmarks Foundation, and the Olde Towne East Neighborhood Association about a solution to obtain corporate sponsorship to move the house which I mentioned in an earlier post, apparently the Columbus Foundation couldn't wait a day longer to tear it down. I don't know what's more frustrating, that or the fact that no one attempted a solution that was sitting right next door in Indiana. I think a Great Lakes Neighborhood Exchange would be a good way to pool all of our experiences together and learn from each other. Too often are situations in this city treated like they'd never been faced anywhere else.

seriously! I was in there yesterday and ordered the Thursday special advertised on the chalkboard. He said the supplier couldn't supply them this week or something. But it's still up there on the chalkboard. I mean... it's CHALK! How hard is it to revise the day's special? and those tables in the bathroom hallway. So random.

In the essay, Lois Weiberg is a woman from Chicago who traveled in many different social circles; artist, politicians, business people and philanthropists. By connecting all of these groups she was able to get many programs started. She didn't really start any of them but was instrumental in the seed being planted.

I have found a ton of useful information on CU, and just as much entertaining wastes of time. I say kudos Walker.

What I don't get is anyone being excited about PBR of all things. That's the suckiest of all sucky beers. It's big with the hipsters in Brooklyn too, which I never got.

And who could object to mustard on a hot dog? Is that a west coast thing? Because that is my preferred topping.
