Mayme Moore Park is a small 2.3 acre neighborhood space that primarily serves as a place for residents of the near East Side to gather for the occasional picnic, or to bring kids to play on the small playground. But every Thursday during the Heritage Concert Series, the park transforms into the jazz culture epicenter of Columbus where thousands venture to take part in the live music, food trucks and fun festive atmosphere.

The 14th Annual Heritage Concert Series kicked off this evening with national recording artist and jazz vibraphonist, Roy Ayers. The event runs from 6pm to 9pm every Thursday through August 30th. Featured acts this season includes The Special Band ( July 19), Carpe Diem (July 26), Dean Simms (Aug 2), Liquid Crystal Band (Aug 9), Bobby Floyd (Aug 16), Jeanette Williams & Mary McClendon (Aug 23), and Brian Jackson, Mark Adams, & Lonnie Liston Smith (Aug 30).
