    Payless ShoeSource Closing 800 Stores Across US, Including Four in Central Ohio

    After filing for bankruptcy back in April and announcing 400 store closures, Payless ShoeSource made news again yesterday by announcing another 408 stores that will close. The combined total represents a reduction of the company’s retail footprint by approximately 20 percent, bringing their 4,000 international store total down to 3,200 for now.

    The combined closure list from April and May includes 21 stores across Ohio, including the following Central Ohio locations:

    • The Eastland Mall store
    • 3390 South High Street
    • 8126 East Broad Street in Reynoldsburg
    • The River Valley Mall store in Lancaster

    Other national retailers that have closed locations in 2017 thus far include Gander Mountain, Rue21, GamestopRadioShackhhgreggJ.C. PenneyWet SealAmerican ApparelThe Limited and Macy’s.
