More athletic-department news from OSU today as Business First reports that OSU and the Columbus Blue Jackets have signed a deal that would have the University managing the operations at Nationwide Arena. The move would save the Jackets $1 million annually and assist with easing their $12 million budget woes.

makes sense to keep management local if its cost effective. OSU already has the local resources of a nationally recognized arena – why not bring that to bear on the Nationwide? Seems like a win-win. Any idea how they will handle the transition? Will they retain the current employees?
I bet in a few months there will be a “flash mob” there where a bunch of guys show up and spontaneously play a hockey game.
I see a tuition increase on the way. Maybe they’ll increase Tressel’s pay and give Gee another giant raise to help offset the cost.
