Office Space Tour Series Launches for Downtown Entrepreneurs

Interested in setting up a new office Downtown? Then the Capital Crossroads Special Improvement District (SID) is here to help.

“As more and more people turn their attention to the urban core, we want to showcase the variety of office space options,” explains SID Business Recruiter (and event tour guide) Kacey Brankamp. “The SID knows that searching for the right space and opening a business is hard work, and we want to make it easier.”

Starting on March 5th, the SID will be hosting guided tours of available Downtown office spaces that cater specifically to startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses who are looking for small-to-medium sized locations.

“Downtown is a great place for entrepreneurs, and I’d argue the only place for entrepreneurs to be,” adds Brankamp. “Business occurs in all the moments that appear to be between business, like walking for a coffee, or having lunch on an outdoor patio. Invariably, while you walk from one meeting to another, you run into someone you’ve been meaning to catch up with.”

The first tour will feature spaces available in prominent office buildings located at 35 E. Gay Street and 85 E. Gay Street. Additional buildings that will be toured through April and May are located on Main Street and North Fourth, as well as highrise spaces in the Chase Tower and Fifth Third Center.

“A grant from the Create Columbus Commission made this program happen,” said Brankamp. “And while the financial support from CCC is crucial, the vote of confidence from these millennial leaders showed the SID this was an important project to develop.”

The tours are free to attend and include light refreshments and cocktails, but RSVPs are required.
