I’ve gotten word via email that both Democratic candidates have set up their Columbus bases of operation downtown in the Red Brick District during their Ohio tours. Although the debate will take place in Cleveland, the candidates will most likely be making stops in Columbus as well.
Clinton has set up in the first floor of the Mercantile building (309 south fourth), which is where Strickland had set up previously during his campaign.
Obama has set up near the intersection of Rich and Zettler across the alley from Peggy’s Pride.
Both offices are slated to open tomorrow.

Both campaigns should be aware of the parking situation around here. 4th Street especially should be made clear for the most important constituents of Columbus. Cars.
It’s time for both Hillary and Obama to start talking transportation policy so all their supporters’ cars are not towed in vain.
It is, however, to have people back in the old Strickland headquarters though.
are these the state offices or just columbus city offices?
Ah, but the real question is whether either Hillary or Obama have actually *heard* of the Red Brick District.
Even better, I’m sure will name some area of town a new “district” during their stay anyways. They can be here for the coronation.
lol ive never even heard of red brick district.
this town has a fever. and the only perscription is more districts!
Isn’t the Obama HQ dangerously close to the Ohio GOP HQ??? I guess that old saying “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer,” applies…
They shouldn’t be either. It is simply office space rented for use as a campaign headquarters for the respective canidates.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will visit Ohio State University Medical Center and holding a health care roundtable there Saturday, as well. However, the events are invitation only, not large, general public rallies.
HIs first Columbus campaign visit will be followed by rallies in Akron and Cleveland as Obama essentially moves to Ohio through Tuesday night’s debate in Cleveland.
