This friday sees the opening of Reuhl store in Easton. There target market is the 20-30 year old range. The parent company, Abercombie, has just decided to expand this line of stores after the success of its pilot stores in places such as detroit and new jersey. This has a more sophisticated feel to it than what abercomibie is known for.

Sounds cool. Is it all kinds of clothes? or dressier stuff? Pricey?
I think it is going to be more pricey than the likes of express or even banana, maybe something along the lines of armani exchange or fcuk.
Not sure really, i guess we’ll find out on friday!
According to my gfriend whos a merchant at aber, they hope to comepete with the big time designers!

Wow… from that web site it looks just like Abercrombie… selling clothes by showing mostly naked people. Brilliant.
The logic is almost the same as showing the masses that killing is wrong by killing people…
I’m not the biggest fan of abercombie by no means. The thought of having a half naked guy standing at the entrance of the store, enticing girls and guys alike to go in is not appealing to me.
But we all know, sex sells…..
Are you trying to make a connection between Abercrombie and Eric Rudolph? I agree that it’s some pretty fucked up logic to kill people (at the olympics no less) to prove that “killing” via abortion is wrong, but I’d never compare his crimes to Abercrombie using scantilly clad models to sell their clothes.
I’d probably compare the fucked up logic of Rudolph’s crimes to the fucked up logic behind the judiciary going easy and NOT giving him the death sentance. I have a suspicion that if he was bombing in the name of anything other than GOD, or PRO-LIFE, or any other conservative ideal that he would have gotten the chair. This guy IS a terrorist, but no one wants to say it because he’s a terrorist in the name of GOD and not ALLAH!
YAY FOR AMERICA!
Hehe… it sounds like the problem is that you’ve matured out of their demographic. ;) Naked people is perfect to draw in the average 14-19 crowd.
I checked out that store today just out of my curiousity. The store looked very unique from outside, and you were right! There were some hotties standing in front of the store greeting us. The only thing that I was a little confused was the fact that the store is so dark. This by far is the darkest store I’ve ever been into. The interior design is very dark with extremely poor lighting. I felt like I went to a fancy restaurant to have a candle light dinner. It’s so dark, I could hardly see what they’re selling. Even worse, I almost trip myself!! I seriously don’t get the idea of selling clothes in a dark room.
Hrm… isn’t Abercrombie a pretty dark store too? I try to avoid going anywhere near those stores, but I recall them being loud and dark and not much else. ;)
Might have to head out to Easton to check this new place out. ;)
The darkness got to me too! The concept seemed cool, but I guess I was expecting something else. It is just an upscale abercombie. Didnt really get a good chance to see the clothes properly, as it was extremely crowded on the openning day, felt like an open night for a gallery!
Yup! the design is very similar to abercrombie. If they’re trying to be in the same class as armany exchange, they need to do some pretty damn good marketing. Same like you, I didn’t get to see the clothing because it’s too dark and crowded. Abercrombie is pretty dark store too, but the huge store windows help bringing good lighting from outside.
