Bethia Woolf. Jim Ellison. Johnny DiLoretto. Andy Dehus. You probably already recognize this group as some of the people working hard to elevate the food scene in Columbus. Now, they have joined together with creative techie Mike Beaumont to bring you a new weekly radio show on 90.5 WCBE. The five minute show is called Foodcast and will be aired weekly at 2:01pm on Saturdays. Billed as “a show about all things edible in Columbus,” the first show will air this Saturday, July 2 and will leave your mouth watering for BBQ.
You may already be listening to Johnny’s other show he hosts with John DeSando on WCBE, Cinema Classics. With its success, Johnny pitched the idea of a similar show based around food to WCBE. They loved it and Johnny asked the others to join him. Mike is doing all of the recording and editing. The show will have the feel of a kitchen table discussion among friends, where they compare opinions on their favorite Columbus dining spots.

I had a chance to listen to a preview of the show and the banter and jokes make it a fun listen. And of course the information shared about Columbus BBQ was great! In case you are unable to tune in on Saturday, the show will also be available via podcast. Foodcast is being underwritten by The Hills Market and Grid Furnishings. You can also Like WCBE Foodcast on Facebook.

Is this going to be a full hour (and usurp Splendid Table)? Or is this going to be another short broadcast?
I’m pretty sure it’s a short production. Looking forward to tuning in! :D
We are not usurpers!!! :-p
It’ll just be a 5 minute spot, not unlike Cinema Classics.
Damn, I was kind of hoping this was replacing Splendid Table.
This is awesome. Congrats guys – hope it turns into a much larger show over time. :)
For a fun drinking game – chug a beer every time I utter an…um.
I’m excited to hear it!
There is a website for the show with show notes and links to listen to past shows. We are happy to have suggestions for topics you would like to hear about.
